I am happiest when I am creating. What greater pleasure than to make something with our hands... to enjoy...and better yet...
others enjoy ! I have been so blessed to have this opportunity that I have - To do what I love, and share it with others for my "bread and butter" Yes... I'm ever so grateful for that ! And I have been having SUCH a good time these past few days getting
some goodies underway for my Valentine offering on Monday. "Handmades from my HEART AND SOUL ". I like to personalize my updates lately....... It's fun to add a theme to what I have in the works.... It inspires me in a way - to come up with a fun assortment of things . A big snow is expected to hit later today....and I will admit.... I'm
as excited as a schoolgirl, counting on school to be out . I do look forward to getting snowed in with my hubby.... stay in the house where it is super warm -( thanks to our awesome woodburning furnace) and I will be making things like crazy ! Every
item I make will "have heart" . Whether it be a Heart shaped ticking pillow, or one of my Bears with a simple heart upon
its chest. That will be my "Valentine" theme. So.... I'm off to get started for the day....Oh, bty... I'll have these items for sale on our website on Monday afternoon. ( Time to be announced) Thanks for stopping by and I hope that

Happy Monday !
Well, my friends... This year certainly hasn't gone as planned so far for me. Usually, January is rather slow paced and I have
some time to play. I was so gung-ho about all the creativity and decorating to come. But, such is life.... things happen. I actually can't put my finger on it....but my, my time sure does fly by in a hurry. I have not been doing anything but trying to
stay caught up with day to day business and taking care of the house. There's been a little extra to do this year to help Michael.... and I guess...at the end of the day.... I've just been ready to "nest" in our warm cozy home and be a couch potato
for a few hours in the evening. As I mentionedin my last post...the workshop is chilly...so, I suppose, once I get home to settle.... I'm just finally ready to bask in the warmth and not "do". Just hangin' out with my hubby....that's the good stuff !
I do quite a bit of dreaming during those hours. Lots of thoughts and ideas run through my mind. I'm thinking that surely I can be organized an caught up in another week or so - that possibly I can start some new major creations- I'm ready for those little
designs that keep dancing around in my head to come to life.
Michael seems to be doing better.... little by little. He is still a little sore from his ICD implant that was early December. His vasculitis is a mysterious thing. All the medication he is taking for it...well, it's been some powerful stuff... the kind that makes you just plain feel bad - the worst part is - the side effects from those meds. are the same symptoms of his illlness- therefore - hard to tell how the illness is subsiding. From the last tests.... it seems to be going away. We should know more on how he's progressing in 4 - 6 weeks. Bless his heart, he's been through so much. He is such a good man and I am proud of him . It'll be so nice when he gets back to his good old self again. We do Thank You all for your kindness and well wishes through it all.

Beating those Winter Blues

Trying to beat those winter blues... that's what I've been doing these past few days. I just can't help it. I am cold. been cold since mid November. I've always had trouble keeping warm. Except for those few hours of bliss - in the house that I get every night.... most of the day, I'm quite uncomfortable. Our workshop is chilly.... we do have a good heat unit...but, being very budget minded these days.... I'd rather be chilly out here, than extremely poor ! The cost of everything these days.... is certainly one
cause for the winter blues. So, today, I just thought I'd share with you one of my favorite pictures that speak summertime around here.
Now , THIS is where you'll find me most summer evenings.... This is our front porch of our workshop...It is beautiful out there. The perfect place to sip on a tall glass of sweet iced tea. ( with lemon of course !) Relax, and dream away !
Sorry I have nothing else to share with you today. I have been trying to play catch up around the house....cleaning & organizing. I really haven't gotten into a lot of re decorating yet. I think that is going to be a slow process. However, I will have a bit to share not too long from now. Basically, I've been just working away. Trying to stay focused, and looking forward to warmer weather. Around here.... the warm up begins in late March.... it is a slow process it seems.... for, it's not until May that I'm completely thawed out ! I am working towards another Farmhouse Friday on our website.... and THEN a nice offering of some of my NEW handmades for later next week. I'll certainly keep you posted. Okay... Here's the thing , I have been up to my ears in orders for the past few weeks. Orders from 2009 that I am absolutely finishing up in the next few days. Our friends from Primitive Homeplace just pulled out of our drive - carrying a nice batch of goods that I made for them and heading to the Springfield Ohio show. Maybe some of you all will see them there ! Well..... while I was out in the cabin this morning..... I was browsing around

at all the cool things that are just sitting out there.... Things that I've picked up here and there over the past couple of months. Since we won't be opening those cabin doors again - until May..... I think I'll share some of it with you ! So ---- Stop by our site - tomorrow afternoon.... Friday, the 15th..... at 1:00 ( central time ) .... And maybe , just maybe.... Dreams, Designs and Discoveries

When I was younger... There were only 2 different things that I wanted to be when I grew up. An Interior Decorator for one..... The other - To work for a magazine.... Country Living to be exact. My life took a total different path, of course. Sometimes I wonder what my life would have been like if I had chosen a grand education or career....But, I am a very happy gal - right where am! I truly feel that I am exactly where I'm supposed to be - and everything happens for a reason. I love my chosen career.... I love being at home working, and tending to my husband, my animals and whatever needs doing. What a lucky gal I am ! Anyhoo....... I have found that with what I do - ANYTHING is possible ! I can create my own magic and try, try , try to do good with it everyday. This has always been my livelihood - and a good one, at that. Actually the one source of income for both Michael and I for the past 15 years. Now that he's not feeling well - and not working - I'm feeling the desire to do some serious dreaming and creating..... I don't really want to grow into a BIG business - I just want to make more, do more, and be open to all possibilities. Life is so interesting - who knows what's around the bend for any of us......

So, Bring it on world !

I have actually found - by working with this blog - that this can be my own, so called "magazine" . And I'm really excited about it ! I have many features planned, lots of photo "shoots", helpful tips and other good things along the way. This will be fun for me - and maybe for you too..... We can all Dream, design, and discover together ! Today, I shared a dream with you..... next time - I'll share some designs I've been working on. I wish for you a most wonderful day.... Good Day to You ! Well..... I'll tell ya' I got a little ahead of myself when I started this blog a couple of weeks ago. I haven't had much time to devote to this page like I thought I would. Even todays will be short and sweet. Seems I'm always in a rush to take care of an order or two....and to be

honest.... I got a way behind during the holidays, and let things go - so I may spend time with Michael and the family.

I am FINALLY taking down the tree today ! I took the decorations off last week....and I dread the taking apart, boxing and storing of everything. Mike still can't do any major lifting... and quite honestly...this little gal is getting a lot of backaches doing alot of things that need doing around here. BUT.... I am getting tougher, and alot more exercise these days. That's a good thing.... But, that big old tree...and boxes of decorations may just have to sit in the spare room for awhile. That's okay !

It snowed last night. That's exciting for us here in Western Kentucky ! I'm disappointed that we only got 1 inch so far... 3 more inches are forecast for today.... That will be a joy to see ! So, today.... I will get the house cleaned and will start some real re decorating ! I can't wait to start freshening and brightening up the place with all my ideas and inspirations ! I will start after lunch..... Michael likes to sleep in these days.... Bless his Dear Heart.... All the medications that he is still on -

both for his heart, and the vasculitis.... has really taken its toll on him. He's doing okay...and

being such a good sport about it all. But, he certainly is not himself lately. He has a check up in a couple of weeks. I'll keep you posted - and tell you more about that later.
