Goodbye 2010

It's the last day of 2010....What a year it has been . A year full of change and Rediscovery.

I have learned so much about myself this past year...Much I am Happy with, and I found have much to improve. I'll be blogging more this coming week.... I just wanted to take a moment to wish you all a Happy New Years Eve. May 2011 be AWESOME for all of us !

p.s..... I will mention that I had intended on making this a much longer and more interesting blog...that is something I truly wish to improve on this year...... However, I have spent the past 2 hours this morning trying to change the fonts, make my picture much bigger, etc....all to have failed me. If anyone has any suggestions on where I should go via this internet to learn how to do such things..... please let me know. If I cannot make it how I want... I may just drop blogging from my things I want to do. smiles :-)

Lovely paper Packages.....

Do you have all your Wrapping done ? This is my favorite way to wrap up very special Christmas presents........Although, I have learned....that not all people appreciate the creativity.....smiles :-).....

I only wrap gifts like this for certain people... I've had family members ask me if I had to resort to this...did I run out of giftwrap ?....ha ! .... Oh, well... This style is not for everyone :-)

Simply use old book pages, .... age some, keep some on the lighter side .....
Quaint paper packages...tied up with string....These are a few of my favorite things !!!!

Wednesday....

Just a few shots around the house today..... It's simply a cold and dreary day....and we're expecting ice tonight... I know it's been quite a mess up north...Hope everyone is staying

safe and warm... As I've stated before... I don't get into alot of decorating for Christmas.

I've added some pretty red apples to the room today.... They've always been a favorite

decoration of mine.

This setting is in my upstairs foyer. I recently took a fun trip with my cousin to Glendale, Kentucky... we had so much fun...being with family... See the Cabbage sack and the ironstone

pitcher ?.... Got them from Theresa..of Time Worn Interiors... she has a fabulous booth at

Bennies Barn there in Glendale. I really like where I'm going with this look I'm going for...

A fresh primitive...uncluttered....style... Lighter and brighter.... I do have a long way to go, though.... I look forward to

getting out and about this winter and finding more treasures for the farmhouse and cabin

too....Oh...it's going to be a great 2011 ! I just know it is...for everyone !

Simple is....

It doesn't take much to make me happy...especially when it comes to Christmas Decorating. For me...simple is best....Just a few snips of real pine or cedar tucked here and there among my many vignettes in the house...... brings in a nice touch of freshness and really brightens things up. Without all the lights and glitter. Plus.. It all smells incredible ! Here are 3 little pictures that I have taken....
I usually ALWAYS use fresh berries... however... this year...the rosehips never turned into a pretty red...So, I have my back up faux berries ...smiles :-) It's always so nice to add these types of things to what can be an otherwise drab corner........

A sweet little red wool stocking and a touch of pine is all I needed to add some Christmas Cheer to this little bear !

Restless....

I'm at it again..... Changing up my blog... Back and forth , I know how I've been.... but, you know... I really like this format.... Just plain and simple...Yet, a nice classic style... Like a page from a magazine. Ha ! When I first started this blog... LAST winter... that's how I wanted to

blog...as I were doing a piece for a great country magazine ! I do love to daydream about such things ! I'll have fun playing with all of this during these cold winter months. I am becoming quite restless lately.... lots of ideas swimming around in this head of mine.... Lots to share with you in the coming weeks. As for now.... I must catch up on some much needed cleaning and redecorating...as, I simply created a wreck this past week - by doing all my photo shoots for the website in the house - By the way.... Thanks to all of you who shopped on the site Wednesday night... I'm so blessed to have sold out so quickly. It certainly helps things around here :-) .....

Perhaps I will do such fine re-decorating.... I'll have more pics to post this week ! As for now.... I simply hope you enjoy your weekend !
